For many years this has been the motto of the Schick Hotels. As a family establishment it is important for us to be aware of the social and economic responsibility we have to our guests, our employees and the environment - and to live this philosophy every day. High quality standards, the safety of our products and services, and the efficient and careful handling of natural resources are important values in the long-term development of our company.
With the selection of our partners we pay attention to their initiatives in the areas of environmental protection, sustainability and social responsibility in order to optimise our business together and to avoid negative environmental effects.
The consequential next step for us is to expand the range our restaurants offer with FAIRTRADE products.
Vienna Red Cross & Schick Hotels Vienna - a strong new partnership
For 125 years the Austrian Red Cross has offered assistance influenced by humaneness. On the initiative of the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, the Austrian Chambers of Commerce and the Industrialists' Association, a platform on the topic of corporate social responsibility was founded in 2002 to promote the sustainable development of dialog between economy, politics and society.
In accordance with this 'mission' and to mark the occasion of World Red Cross Day on 8th May 2009, the Vienna Red Cross and Schick Hotels Vienna joined in a new partnership. Two of the Vienna Red Cross's shelters for homeless men - the 'Hermes House' and the 'Otto House' - are the focus of this collaboration. The residents of both facilities are provided with warm meals from the Schick Hotels restaurants.
The realization of this humanitarian and socially oriented initiative is another step in accordance with the corporate philosophy of Schick Hotels & Restaurants Vienna: sustainability and competence on an ecological, economical and social basis, under the guiding principle of 'Together today for tomorrows to come.'
Stiftung Kindertraum
For many years the Schick Hotels have supported the charity “Stiftung Kindertraum” (foundation children’s dream). The charity “Stiftung Kindertraum” fulfils dreams and desires of seriously ill children or children with special needs.
Many dreams and desires have already been made possible: - There was a trip to America, a special therapy or a new computer, all these wishes were fulfilled by the Schick Hotels. With making a child’s dream come true Schick Hotels wanted to give a special present: Happiness and a few hours filled with positive experiences for children in need
The original idea of using the companies’ budget for Christmas cards for a charitable gesture has become an institution at Schick Hotels.
