Exhibitions in Vienna – Albertina
Monet to Picasso – The Batliner Collection
The Batliner Collection ranges from Impressionism up to the present and can be seen at the Albertina in Vienna from 2011 onwards. The rainy days in autumn or the first days of winter are perfect for a visit to the outstanding exhibitions in Vienna.
It all started with one painting: “The Grey Horse ‘Gazelle’” by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. The Liechtensteiner lawyer Batliner received this painting as remuneration for a successful trial. That was when Batliner’s love of art was awoken. The now retired lawyer collected art from the Impressionism era to contemporary art and can call some of the most significant works by Renoir, Degas, Cézanne, Macke, Kadinsky, and many more, his own. Works of almost every contemporary painter can be found amongst his exhibits.
